I started a company.

For the past year, I’ve been working with colleagues and clients one-on-one to figure out where AI fits in their work. We just sit down and build things together.

I didn’t expect how much I’d enjoy it or how interesting the results would be. Two people with different sets of expertise, a code agent, and a problem. We spend a lot of time talking before we touch the agent. When we’re aligned, we then turn to the agent so the work gets done quickly and correctly.

The realtime collaboration between you and me is often more important than the tools or technologies we use. Coding agents allow us to build the software in near realtime, but your reaction and feedback to what we build is how we reach the best outcome. Seeing, inspecting, and poking what we build as we build it forces us to confront edges we didn’t consider, assumptions that don’t hold, and whether what we’re building measures up to your vision.

I’ve been a software engineer for over a decade. The tools changed dramatically in the last two years, but domain experts still know things models and agents don’t do automatically out of the box. Some people call this “taste” or “experience”. However you interpret it, the situational context is too specific for the model to know what is needed without more guidance. I help you bring the pieces together and bridge the gap between your deep knowledge and your vision, using coding agents to do the implementation.

The company is wvlen. I work with startups, research teams, and organizations that are open to working in new ways to solve their problems, even if you don’t have a plan yet.

If that sounds like you or someone you know, please get in touch and I’d love to see how we can work together.
