Reading books has been helpful for me to sit with a specific set of ideas for longer.
While it's possible the same specific insight might exist in shorter article form, some ideas just require more exposure, in more different ways to really resonate.
These days, ideas move so rapidly it's been easy to overlook the value in slowing down.
